All of our frames include standard prescription lenses for €60, if your prescription is outside of a certain range we may recommend thinner lenses.

We will contact you to discuss your lens options should you need thinner lenses once we have reviewed your prescription.

Prescription Type

All of our frames are available in three prescription types. When you are adding your glasses to the cart you will be asked to select what you will be using the glasses for; distance, reading or non prescription.

Distance

For people who are short sighted. Helpful for things like reading a blackboard, watching tv and driving.

Reading

For people who are long sighted. Helpful for reading book, recipes or your phone.

Non-prescription

For people who want glasses to look good or for blue light glasses without a prescription.

Blue Light Blocking Lenses

As well as choosing the prescription type, you will also be offered the choice to add a blue light lens filter. All of our frames are available with blue light blocking lenses, these filter more of the blue light emitted by digital devices compared to standard anti reflection coating, they also come with an anti-scratch coating. Good for use with computers, phones and tablets.

Simply add this option when selecting your frames for just €25.

Are blue light lenses for me?

Most digital devices today such as phones, laptops and tablets emit blue light. Looking at these screens for long periods of time can lead to digital eye strain, eye fatigue and even sleeplessness. Our blue light lenses have a coating built into the lens which reduces the levels of blue light entering the eye. This blue light filter reduce the transmission of this harmful light whether indoors or outdoors, day or night.

Wether you are a student, gamer, office worker or general screen addict like us then our blue light lenses may be for you.

Lens Types

Normal lenses come as standard with all frames, sometimes it may be necessary to go with a thinner lens depending on your prescription strength. If our optician recommends a thinner lens we will contact you, the prices for thinner lenses are outlined below.

Our hi-index thin lenses also come with an anti-scratch and anti-glare coating. Hi index lenses are the right choice if you want lighter or thinner lenses that are attractive and as comfortable as possible. They are recommended if you have a strong glasses prescription for myopia, hyperopia or astigmatism.

Hi Index lenses usually have a number (1.6, 1.67. 1.74) which refers to the degree of refraction the lens provides. In simple terms the higher the number the thinner & more light weight the lens.

Anti Glare

What is Anti Glare?

Anti-reflective coating (also called “AR coating” or “anti-glare coating”) improves vision, reduces eye
strain and makes your eyeglasses look more attractive.

Today’s modern anti-reflective coatings can virtually eliminate the reflection of light from eyeglass lenses, allowing 99.5 percent of available light to pass through the lenses and enter the eye for good vision.

What are the benefits of anti-glare coating?

By eliminating reflections, AR coating also makes your eyeglass lenses look nearly invisible so people can see your eyes and facial expressions more clearly. Anti-reflective glasses also are more attractive, so you can look your best in all lighting conditions.

The visual benefits of lenses with anti-reflective coating include sharper vision with less glare when driving at night and greater comfort during prolonged computer use (compared with wearing eyeglass lenses without AR coating).

Anti glare coating comes as standard with our 1.6 index (Thin), 1.67 index (Extra Thin), 1.74 index (Super Thin) and our blue light lenses. The standard 1.5 index lens does not come with an anti glare coating.
